Pasta is not a 15-minute meal!

The latest Rachael Ray recipe I tried, Cheesy Pasta Presto, from Just in Time! was supposed to take only 15 minutes. It took 53!

When you think about it, there’s no way pasta is a 15-minute meal. It takes 15 minutes just to boil the water. And another 10 to cook the pasta.

The good thing was that Cheesy Pasta Presto tastes much better than it sounds.

I saw some infomercial about a gadget that would make food really fast. They had some sort of grilled vegetable sandwich thing that would only take 5 minutes! I’m thinking, it’s going to take more than 5 minutes just to get all that stuff out of the fridge.

You know I REALLY think you missed your calling. Instead of a chemist you really should have been a writer/chef. Hmmm have you thought of being a food critic? I agree pasta is not quick BUT if you had a pressure cooker….

Boil water. Dice tomatoes. Crumble feta cheese. Take out a jar of prepared pesto. Put pasta in boiling water. When it is done, drain. Mix in pesto. Add tomatoes and feta cheese. Mix while eating in order to save time. It’s at least under 30 minutes, although I’m not sure how long it would take my beloved sister to make. Notice that talking to roommates or idly musing are not part of the recipe. Get back to me on this one.
